How to spot leyland cypress
- Soft, feathery, flat blue-green foliage
- Very fast, tall, dense growth — often planted as a quick privacy screen
- Small round cones
- Frequently planted in tight rows that crowd as they mature
Leyland cypress grows incredibly fast, which is why people line them up for instant privacy — and then they get huge, crowd each other out, and start browning and dying back in the middle of the row. They're also prone to fungal cankers when stressed.
Most of our Leyland calls are about reducing height, clearing dead and dying trees out of a screen, or taking down a row that's gotten out of hand.
