It's the first question everyone asks, and the honest answer is: it depends. Tree removal isn't priced off a chart — it's priced off your specific tree, your specific yard, and how much rigging and risk the job involves. Here's what moves the number, so you know what you're paying for.
Small trees (under ~30 ft). Ornamentals, small evergreens, and young trees in open areas. The simplest, lowest-cost removals — though access still matters.
Medium trees (~30–60 ft). Many backyard maples, birches, and similar. Cost depends heavily on how close they are to the house, fences, and lines.
Large trees (~60–80 ft). Mature oaks, ash, and tulip poplars. These need real rigging and time, particularly in tight suburban lots.
Very large / high-risk trees (80 ft+). Big trees over a roof, leaning, dead, or wedged between properties. The most involved work — and the most important to leave to professionals.
